DRAMA CLUB

announces the 2008-09 production

Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory,” which features the songs from the classic family film “Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory.”
 
All of your favorite characters and songs (including “The Candy Man” and “Pure Imagination”) are featured in this show that overflows with music, comedy and heart. The memorable score by Leslie Bricusse (Jekyll & Hyde, Doctor Dolittle) and Anthony Newley, augmented by several new songs, has been neatly fitted into a new script adapted under the auspices of the Roald Dahl Estate. Ideal for children’s matinees or school assemblies, Willy Wonka is a wonderful family show, perfect for the holiday season or any season.

The North Hills Junior High School will present “Willy Wonka Jr.” Thursday, Jan. 29 – Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009. Shows begin at 7 p.m. at the junior high auditorium, 55 Rochester Road in Ross Township.

The cost is $3 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may be reserved by calling the box office at 412-318-1469 or may be purchased in person during box office hours. The box office, located in the junior high auditorium lobby, will be open from 5 – 7 p.m. on the following Mondays and Tuesdays, Jan. 19-20 and Jan. 26-27.

All attendees are asked to use the library entrance the night of the performance. The box office will be open at that entrance beginning at 5:30 p.m. the night of each show. The auditorium opens at 6:30 p.m. for seating.
