Dear Southwest Region Members,
It is my pleasure to announce the
second annual middle school young women’s festival for our region –
the “Sweet Harmony” festival! This year’s festival will take place
on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Burgettstown Area Middle/High
School. Our guest conductor will be Eileen Hower, assistant
professor of music education at Bloomsburg University and a past
president of ACDA-PA. Eileen’s experience with middle school voices
and her enthusiasm for singing will be infectious with your girls.
Returning for year number two is the University of Pittsburgh
Women’s Choral Ensemble, under the direction of Lorraine Milovac.
The Pitt Women will serve as vocal models for the participating
girls by sitting with them during the day, leading sectional
rehearsals, and performing for and with them.
